21 Jump Street – The Movie

Sometimes when you read the news your mind isn’t really registering what you are actually reading, This happened to me today. Big time. I just saw the title “21 Jump Street” and in the same sentence actor Jonah Hill. Not a reaction. I just kept on reading and then – bam! Jump Street and Jonah Hill!? Hands down, that’s like reading about Tim Allen and and The Oscars in the same sentence…
Anyway, Variety reports that Jonah Hill is in negotiations to develop a modern-day adaptation of “21 Jump Street” for Columbia Pictures. Jonah would develop the screenplay as a potential starring vehicle and serve as executive producer.
“21 Jump Street,” which aired from 1987-91 on Fox and starred Johnny Depp, revolved around a group of young cops who worked undercover in high schools and colleges.
A potential starring vehicle… I’m having a hard time visualizing Jonah as a young, undercover cop…
