Ben Kingsley to join Scorsese’s thriller

I know I didn’t give you anything good yesterday and I’m sorry but sometimes I just can’t find the time. Maybe I should hire a part time writer. Anyway, I’ll try my best to continue giving you the latest news from Hollywood – despite my hectic out-of-blog life…
Variety reports that Ben Kingsley has signed on to co-star in Martin Scorsese’s period thriller “Shutter Island” for Paramount Pictures. “Shutter Island” will mark Ben Kingsley’s first collaboration with the brilliant Martin Scorsese.
Leonardo DiCaprio will star as a U.S. marshal who is sent to the remote New England island in summer 1954 to investigate the disappearance of a patient from the island’s prison/mental hospital. Mark Ruffalo has already boarded the project. Kingsley will portray the mental hospital’s chief physician.
The screenplay was adapted from a novel (with the same title) by writer Dennis Lehane.
The first thing that comes to mind when I read this is that you all should look into the original novel. Lehane is an extremely talented writer and I really enjoy his work. Now go read!
