Let’s start of the week with some horror news. Moviehole.net reports that Matt Reeves will direct a movie called (working name) “Cloverfield”. The movie, produced by J.J. Abrams, fixes on “a giant monster movie featuring something that’s being called ‘The Parasite’. It’s also known that the film’s been shot in New York, using hand-held video cameras. Blair Witch anyone?
The teaser trailer for the film screened with some press reviews of “Transformers” last week. Cinematical’s Scott Weinberg attended one of the screenings, and he described the trailer like this:
“We open with a bunch of teens partying. Apparently one of ‘em is leaving town tomorrow and everyone’s kind of bittersweet about it. Then they hear a giant ruckus and head outside to see a massive explosion in the distance. Out on the streets people are running around all panicky-like. Then the head of the Statue of Liberty lands in the middle of the street and the date of January 18, 2008, pops up. Oh, and it’s all done with handheld video cameras. Basically The Blair Witch Project meets the Godzilla remake … which means I can’t wait to see it.”
So, it looks like we are in for a real monster treat! Yummy!

I hope it’s dark and scary, and no attempt to “rice it up” is made.
No creatures with human or senses of humour, just single minded destruction and death.
Now by that, I’m not crazy…lol…it’s just that IF this is about Lovecraft’s mythos, these creatures are not here for a good time, and won’t be making cute comments before killing someone, or looking funny or scared.
These creatures are essentially robots that work for a higher/lower power, they kill, the do what their told etc., etc.,
I hate it when they try to lighten up horror.
And I’ll Form the Head……
giant monster… that´s the shit!!
agree… monsters is tha shit. “They” should make more monster flicks.
