Ewan in talks for Angels & Demons

Ewan McGregorThe cast seems to be set now in the upcoming “Da Vinci Code” prequel “Angels & Demons“. I’m of course talking about the film which is based on the Dan Brown best-seller. The female lead, opposite Tom Hanks, was just recently nabbed by Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer. She will play Vittoria Vetra, an Italian scientist who joins forces with Langdon. Most recently she could be seen in the movie “Vantage Point,” where she played the character Veronica.

And now, the last (I guess) big part is in talks and according to Variety it’s Ewan McGregor that will be joining the Dan Brown based thriller. McGregor is set to take on the role of a powerful Vatican insider who assists Langdon.

Story centers on religious art scholar Robert Langdon (Hanks), who once again finds himself entangled with powerful forces with ancient roots: the Illuminati — the most powerful underground organization in history — and the Catholic Church.

Ron Howard is directing with a planned release on May 15th 2009.
