Freddy is back

According to Dark Horizons, one of the hottest rumors right now is that New Line Cinema is set on bringing back ol’ Freddy Krueger. Yes, yet another installment in the ”Nightmare on Elmstreet” franchise. Apparently they are aiming to start the production at he end of this year. When it comes to the plot ouline it seems as there is two ways to go. And no, it won’t be the much talked about prequel movie. Either the movie would just be about a young couple buying their first home together. The house just happens to stand on 1428 Elm Street… Yeah, you do the math.

The other way to go, storywise, is doing a “Freddy Vs. Michael” (refering to Michael Myers, the nutjob from the “Halloween” franchise). This film seems to be the most popular option on the table at the moment. If they can get through all the red-tape when combining these two strong franchises I’m certain this is the movie the audience will get to see, sometime mid 2008.

Mind you – this is only rumors. So don’t go nuts or anything? Ok?
