Halo: The Movie – back on?

Cinema Blend reports that interest in the abandoned Halo movie has somehow bubbled back up again. The long and short of it continues to be that everyone wants to make it, they just can’t seem to agree on how to go about it.
Peter Jackson was attached as executive producer on the project originally but it fell apart when he insisted on a completely untried, unknown named Neill Blomkamp to direct the movie and he wanted Microsoft to give him a big truckload of money for this nobody to do it. Unsurprisingly (…), it’s right then and there that the whole project fell apart.
But, Lord of the Rings guru Peter Jackson says there’s talk of making it again. Jackson says the release of the Halo 3 videogame later this year is likely to have 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures sniffing around his warthog again.
Jackson still insists that Neill Blomkamp should direct. Hmm… maybe Blomkamp should do some low budget direct-to-dvd stuff first Peter?
Anyway, good news! Me like Halo. Me thinks movie adaptation good idea.
