Hilary Swank to star in Fangland

Today we’re having a big Christmas party here at the office so there’s this feeling of anticipation. I just hope I don’t wake up the wife when I come – it will probably be late… Enough about that, on with news: 

Variety reports that Das Films and Blumhouse Prods. are teaming on an adaptation of former “60 Minutes” producer John Marks’ novel “Fangland” that is shaping up as a star vehicle for Hilary Swank.

Hilary Swank, if she signs on, will play a TV producer who travels to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer. But when she finally meets with the guy, it turns out he’s a modern-day Dracula. A vampire. The real deal.

Now, I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Monster movies rule! I know, often the story, the cast and the budget is below average but there is something intriguing about werevolves, vampires and monsters from space and foggy swamps in the deep south. Basically it’s about “feeding” the very primal sense of fear. And monster flicks does a very good job at that.
