The friendly guys and girls over at The Hollywood Reporter had an interesting story today. Well at least if you’re a fan of Hugh “Wolverine” Jackman. Or if you happen to like movies about ghosts. I’m kind of soft for both so today’s pick wasn’t that tough. Although, I must admit that I was a bit surprised when I saw Jackman at the Oscars earlier this year. I had no idea he was such a… Broadway-dance-and-song-man. It was quit the contrast from Wolverine… Unfortunately “Australia” was without a doubt one of the most boring films I’ve seen in years. But still – I like Jackman and hopefully he’ll stay away from such sleeping pills in the future.
Now Jackman is attached to “Ghostopolis,” an upcoming graphic novel from Doug TenNapel that the author recently set up at Disney. TenNapel’s graphic novels are in high demand as movie projects, with nearly all of them set up at studios.
Anyway, “Ghostopolis” centers on a man who works for the government’s Supernatural Immigration Task Force (say what?). His job is to send ghosts who have escaped into our world back to Ghostopolis. When a living boy accidentally is sent to the other side, the agent must team with a female ghost (and former flame) to bring him back.
Jackman himself will produce. No director or writer has been attached to the project.
Sounds kind of good. Jackman is a fine actor and we all love ghosts so… APPROVED. Next.
