Jet Li and Jackie Chan

There have been rumors since 2003 about the two Kung Fu giants doing a movie together and now, finally, it looks like the project is about to take off. An recent article in the Hong Kong Oriental Daily has given all martial arts fans the news they have been waiting for since… ever?
The movie, still known only as “Untitled J & J Project” is currently in pre-production but is set for an release 2008. The plot is loosly based on the Chinese legend of the Monkey King and his quest to achieve immortality. I really, really hope the movie leaves pre-production soon. Jackie and Jet are not getting younger. It would be shame if they retired before the audience got to enjoy some of their combined wushu magic.
The director is Rob Minkoff. That makes me a bit scared. His biggest achievements this far is Stuart Little and the sequel: Stuart Little 2. On the other hand we have two of the best martial artists ever. Together in the same movie. For the first time. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait!

I saw “Stuart Little Pt 2″ two times in a weekend a couple of years ago…it was one of two movies that showed on my plane between Stockholm – New York, and I was terrified to find out that the same movie was shown on my way back to Sweden… I still have nightmare about that darn little rat…
I bought loads of bad copies of kung fu vhs once in New York. Iron Monkey and other HK flicks. Anyway, on the vhs tape of Shogun Assassin it says “Marshall arts”. I think that´s quite funny.
“Stuart Little 2″ two times the same weekend…? Flight from hell? You have my sympathy. Ouch.
