Today I think I might be the bearer of bad news. Let me explain. I don’t think Ashton Kutcher is a bad actor. I think he has a remarkable sense of comic timing. That said, there’s some very challenging facts about the character he’s going to play in “Five Killers.”
Sorry, I’m rambling already and I haven’t given you the news yet. Variety reports that Lionsgate has set Ashton Kutcher to star “Five Killers,” an action comedy that will begin production early next year. Kutcher will play a former hit man whose life is turned upside down because someone from his past has paid a group of killers to bump him off.
Now, if you read that part one more time you will notice that it says “hit man” and “former.” I don’t know about you but I just can’t see him as a “hit man.” And not just a hit man, a former hit man. Ashton Kutcher is cute as a doll and he is still a young man. He can’t be a former anything. A former hit man? Well, bring it on! Personally I would have cast actors like Billy Bob Thornton, Gerard Butler, or even Nicholas Cage. Actors that can pull of both the “hit man,” and the “former” part.
But, I have been proven wrong before. Kutcher might surprise us all. This will be interesting to say the least.
