On a sadder note (well, I think so), the replacement for Owen Wilson in Tropic Thunder has been cast. Matthew McConaughey has carved out a week in his busy schedule to shoot the role. Although I find McConaughey to be fine actor it’s a shame that Owen couldn’t be in it, as it was first planned… Variety reports that Matthew has jumped into the ensemble cast to take on the job that amounts to an uncredited cameo. McConaughey takes the role that Owen Wilson ankled after he was hospitalized a couple of weeks ago.
McConaughey joins an ensemble cast that includes Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Bill Hader and Steve Coogan.
The story follows a group of actors who gather on a remote island to shoot a big-budget war movie and are forced to become the soldiers they are playing.
