New Dallas rumors

Earlier this year, back in June, I posted about the upcoming Dallas movie. Remember? Well, now there’s new rumors floating around and it sounds like the whole Dallas project has taken another direction. Possibly…

The New York Post reports that John Travolta will no longer star as J.R. Ewing in the adaptation of 80′s drama “Dallas” that is being directed by Betty Thomas.

The paper says that John Travolta was “let go about two weeks ago. He had the role of J.R. Ewing taken from him and given to Ben Stiller.”

A friend of Travolta apparently added, “He is not doing the movie. They’ve gone a different direction than was originally intended.” Representatives for Stiller however have denied the report, claiming the actor had neither accepted or was offered the part.

My thoughts? Well, Ben Stiller isn’t famous for his “serious roles” so… If there’s any truth to this I’m guessing someone has decided to make this a comedy. And if that it the case then Ben Stiller makes perfect sense. Otherwise… it’s just another rumor.
