The talented Edward Norton is apparantly re-teaming with Angelina’s hubby, Brad Pitt. Dark Horizons reports that the leading men from “Fight Club” (1999) are reuniting to star in the political thriller “State of Play“.
A feature film adaptation of the acclaimed 2003 British mini-series, Norton will play a congressman whose speedy political rise is threatened by an investigation into the death of his mistress.
Pitt plays a politician-turned-journalist whose relationship with the solon is compromised when he oversees his newspaper’s investigation into the murder and develops a relationship with the pol’s estranged wife.
Matthew Michael Carnahan adapted the original six-hour mini-series into a two-hour script with “Bourne” writer Tony Gilroy doing a rewrite. Kevin Macdonald is directing.
I never saw the original mini-series but I’m sure that Norton and Pitt wont make fools out of themselves. Solid actors in a movie based on a hit mini-series – what could possibly go wrong?
