Ocean’s Fourteen not gonna happen

With yesterdays talk of Terminator sequels I might as well continue on that path. The ever so delicate road of sequels. Although, today I bring you sad (?) news. Well to be honest, the “Ocean’s” trilogy wasn’t all that good. No, wait. Let me try again – they are good entertainment and it’s always fun to see such big movie stars get together and just have fun. But I’m not sure if our lives will feel empty and hollow without a fourth “Ocean’s” film…

Anyway, during MTV’s recent conversation with director Steven Soderbergh, discussion turned to the “Ocean’s” trilogy (which Soderbergh directed.) According to the director, who said that the loss of one among its ranks might leave another film feeling incomplete. “With Bernie Mac being gone, I don’t think any of us would want to return to that,” he said, referring to the comedian’s untimely passing earlier this year. Although he admits that he misses the days when he could pal around with the likes of George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Don Cheadle. “It’s sad because that was a fun group of people to hang out with,” Soderbergh says.

Soderbergh insists that he explored everything he wanted to in the three existing films. “I was done [anyway],” Soderbergh confesses, adding that he enjoyed the chance to experiment in a way he hasn’t even been able to do in his more eccentric or off-the-radar projects. “I got to play on those movies visually in a way that I don’t normally.”

In my opinion “Oceans’s Fourteen” shouldn’t be made because of the fact that three “Ocean’s” is quite enough. I can only agree with Soderbergh – he made the most out of the trilogy. The loss of Bernie Mac is just the nails in the coffin.
