Cinema Blend reports that it’s been 25 years since the catchphrase “They’re here” first landed in popular culture. Of course I’m talking about the all so creepy “Poltergiest“. The movie was written and produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper. Now “Poltergeist” is having its anniversary celebrated with a new DVD edition. But, if you’re really lucky, you might have the chance to see it on the big screen again too.
Warner Home Entertainment is teaming up with National CineMedia’s Fathom to bring the newly remastered classic film to 250 theaters across the country for one day. Even more specifically: on October 4th, 250 lucky theaters will carry the film for one showing only (7:30pm local time). How’s that for a limited run? Tickets are available at the local theater box offices and through FathomEvents.Com. The site also has a comprehensive list of the theaters participating in the one show presentation.
The 25th Anniversary DVD for the movie will hit stores a week later on October 9th.
