Robert Pattinson has joined the Twilight cast

A week ago I wrote about Fangland, the upcoming vampire flick with Hilary Swank in the lead role. I mentioned my great love for the whole monster genre and I’m still a bit excited about that particular piece of news. Now, just one week later I bring you even more vampire-flick news! I know, it’s like Christmas or something…
The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Robert Pattinson has joined the cast of “Twilight,” the upcoming vampire thriller. You probably recognize him from the Harry Potter movies where he played the role of Cedric Diggory.
Pattinson will play the role of Edward, a teenager who leads a double life as a vampire and becomes romantically involved with his nonvampire high school classmate Bella (Kristen Stewart). The film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke. The movie is based on Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling novel. Meyer penned two sequels, and the movie company is hoping to turn the property into a film franchise.
Twilight is set to go into production in early 2008.
So, we are at least in for two vampire movies next year. Yes, next year is going to be good one. I’m just waiting for some good werewolf projects now…

Well If they make the sequals to twilgiht into movies you will get a vampire Movie and a werewolf movie! Werewolfs come into play in the sequals.
