Sopranos thesp to direct The Hungry Ghosts

As most of you, I’m still hurting from that big, gaping hole of emptiness that followed after the end of HBO’s hit show “The Sopranos.” Will there ever be show of that caliber again? Right now I’m just thankful that “Nip/Tuck” is still airing… The only show on TV that continues to surprises you – every time you watch. Amazing cast too.
Anyway, when I saw the name Michael Imperioli being mentioned I reacted with pure instinct. This is something that all Soprano’s fans, I’m sure, will want to read about. Anyway, Variety reports that Michael Imperioli makes his feature helming debut with his script “The Hungry Ghosts.”
Pic stars “Sopranos” pals Steve Schirripa and Sharon Angela, Nick Sandow (“The Lovebirds”) and Aunjanue Ellis (“Freedomland”). Interwoven plotlines involve divorcees Schirripa and Angela trying to keep their troubled son off the streets and ex-lovers Sandow and Ellis negotiating a push-pull relationship.
Shooting begins May 19 in Gotham with a projected budget under $1 million for the 24-day shoot.
