Statham will reprise his role in Transporter 3

The Transporter movies have always had a special place in my heart. Especially the first one “The Transporter” (2002). Pure action with excellent choreography. Jason Statham really works as Frank Martin, transporter of illegal goods. The sequel, “Transporter 2” was also quality action but didn’t really do it for me.

Now Variety reports that Statham will reprise his role as mercenary delivery man Frank Martin in “Transporter 3,” the next installment in the shoot-’em-up franchise. He will reteam with co-star Francois Berleand, while Robert Knepper, the creepy guy from hit TV-series ”Prison Break” has joined the cast.

However, Louis Leterrier, who helmed the first two pics, has been replaced by Olivier Megaton, who was second-unit director on “Hitman” (2007). The film will shoot for 16 weeks in Russia and France.

Great news all action junkies – Statham is back! Hopefully we will get action sequences á la ”Bourne” again.
