Today I had to wrap up the news in one little nice post. There were just too much to pick one or two. Hopefully you’ll appreciate the selection. Without further ado, I bring you the best of todays movie news:
Variety reports that Christopher Eccleston will share the cockpit with Hilary Swank in “Amelia,” the Amelia Earhart biopic. Eccleston will play Earhart’s navigator, Fred Noonan. Noonan flew with Earhart when her plane disappeared over the Pacific during an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937.
The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Chris Marquette, Cam Gigandet and Aaron Yoo are teaming for the true story adaptation “Kid Cannabis”. Marquette plays the title character and Gigandet is his best friend, two Idaho suburbanites who built a multimillion-dollar marijuana ring. The feds eventually are alerted to the scheme, and the two realize they might be in over their heads. A July 14th start date in Vancouver is being targeted.
And finally Dark Horizons reports that Jack Black has left the supernatural comedy “Man-Witch.”No official reason has been given as of yet. “Man-Witch” centered on a man who discovers he’s a witch and then heads off to teach at a female witch school. Todd Phillips (“Old School“) is set to produce and possibly direct. The actor’s departure has not affected the status of the movie which remains in active development and shooting is slated to begin in January.
Oh, I almost forgot – there has been another little mishap on the set of the upcoming 22nd James Bond film “Quantum of Solace.” Actor Daniel Craig cut off the tip of one of his fingers during an action sequence. The bleeding Craig was taken to hospital but returned in the afternoon to continue filming.
The injury is the third in a spate of recent accidents on the set following a collision last week which left Craig with a gash on his face that required eight stitches. Last weekend, a fire broke out which severely damaged an outdoor set at Pinewood Studios.
Well, that’s it from Moviemind News – have a nice weekend everyone!
