Todd Phillips, that name probably makes many of you think about say… Will Ferrell shooting himself in the throat with a tranquilizer gun (while being cheered on by Seann William Scott)? Tell you what, it’s OK if you don’t make that connection, all I’m saying is that Todd Phillips is the man behind quite a few brilliant comedies over last decade. In a directing/producing or writing capacity he’s is responsible for movies such as: “The Hangover,” “School for Scoundrels,” “Starsky & Hutch,” and of course -  “Old School.” I’m not saying that any of these films will be remembered as “fine motion picture,” not in the “artsy way”… But to all comedy lovers out there this selection is like… fine wine.

With “The Hangover 2″ soon on its way you would think that Todd has his hands full but apparently he’s already involved in a new project reports Variety. Actress Michelle Monaghan is set to star alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in “Due Date” (produced and directed by Todd Phillips). Monaghan will portray the pregnant wife of a guy (Downey) who races home in hopes of arriving before she delivers their first child. He takes on a mismatched traveling companion (Galifianakis).

As I said – not fine cinema, but fine wine.
