“You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning!” We’re back again folks – another glorious week here at Moviemind!
Let’s get straight to the news shall we – Dark Horizons reports that director/producer Tony Scott (“True Romance,” “Spy Game,” “Man on Fire“) is in negotiations to direct the action train drama “Unstoppable“. The story follows a rail company that tries frantically to stop an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.
Mark Bomback wrote the script and Julie Yorn is producing. The project is presently in development so no production schedule has yet been set. Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale“) was previously on board to direct.
Tony Scott is currently working the film “The Taking of Pelham 123.” It’s the remake of the Walter Matthau-starring thriller from 1974 that pits a transit cop (played by Denzel Washington) against a group of hijackers lead by John Travolta, who take over a subway train in order to rake in a hefty ransom.
Well, If Tony Scott is involved, as a director, I’m sure the outcome will be… excellent.
